GG Inconsistency

I think I found a GG inconsistency. No, I'm sure I found a GG inconsistency. Gilmore Girls showrunners have always been good about keeping with the storylines, but when rewatching my season five DVD, I noticed a contradiction. And it's no small incongruity either. In the Tippecanoe and Taylor, Too episode, Jackson runs against Taylor for Town Selectmen and wins. Yeah! And throughout the episodes that follow, Jackson is seen ducking, hiding and disguising himself to avoid Stars Hollow townies because of his Town Selectmen duty. That's all good and stuff due to it's small laughing feats and great references, but how in the world does Taylor get seated again at the Town Selectman thrown? I'm not exactly sure when it happens or how, but sometime from season five's Emily Says "Hello" episode to this current season Taylor has come back. I'm pretty sure that I've never missed an episode from season five or this current season, so this Town Selectman switch-aroo has to be an inconsistency, right?

    There are a lot of inconsistencies, unfortunately. The Ickle Gals and I have point them out several times. One of the biggies is Richard's mom. On season 1 ep 2 she was referred to as dead only to have her alive several eps later.

    Another is the great Rachel/Lorelai and April's mom's meeting. Technically Lor should've known all these ladies. Technically, all these other girls should've met Lor at one time or another.

    Lastly, one ep has Jackson as a Belleville and others as Melville. Which one is it?

    Wow. I must not be paying attention then because this is the first inconsistency that I've come across.

    And yeah, I guess you are right. It only makes sense that Lor should have meet these gals of Luke's one time or another because Lor's been in Stars Hollow since Rory's been one or so years old. Rory's now twenty-one and April is only 12. Weird, huh?

    Don't know about Jackson. Do you know what season it's in? I'd like to investigate this one myself.

    There are tons of inconsistencies. Where the heck is Mr. Kim? You never see him or hear much about him, and eventually they just stop mentioning him. Also, in Season 1 Kirk seems like he is new in town. He works at Doose's and doesn't know who Mrs. Pattye is when she is sampling fruit in the market. Later in the series people like Mrs. Pattye and Babette make it clear that they've known Kirk his whole life. A lot of things are just very weird.

    No, that is not an inconsistency. I've seen every season at least a few times, though I haven't watched that episode for a while. I'm pretty sure later in the episode or one shortly after, Jackson gives up his title. He wins by a landslide but so many people get on his case about fixing and changing things that he gets fed up and gives the Town Selectman title back to Taylor.

    It is an inconsistency; the show never shows Jackson giving up the Selectman job. And when Lorelai and Luke start dating, he says they've known each other for 8 years...which is weird, because that would mean that she waited ten years after moving to SH to go to Luke's. It's too small a town for them to not have met.

    My guess is that the reason she didn't know Luke when she first moved to Stars Hollow she lived at the Independence Inn and didn't have to venture out for her morning coffee. Then when she moved to the house she needed a coffee place enroute and ta dah! She met Luke ;)

    But the Jackson thing has been bothering me. And where is mr Kim? And where did all the anvils go????
