Set Up, Wash Out
I was rewatching my taped episodes of this season, and something hit me so hard I thought I hit the floor. Okay, do you know the episode when Rory returns to the Gilmore fold? I think the episode is called The Prodigal Daughter Returns. Anywhoo. The people over at GG set up Rory's return with her finding a place to stay away from the Grandparents and her reconcilating with her mother, but that's not the set up I'm referring to. I'm talking about Rory getting her job back at Logan's dad's paper in Stanford. It was Rory doing the Lor thing, you know the Lor thing. The Lor thing is when Lorelai goes into her nothing-but-blinders-on mode. And I have to say that Rory doing this usual Lor thing was great. She bugged, camped-out, stalked and all but handcuffed her former boss to her. But as soon as this story set up went into the episode, it washed out in the next episode. What does that mean? Did she lose the job? Or was it another GG inconsistency? My money is on the GG inconsistency. But at least, we got to get a great Rory moment out of it.

Inconsistency. Nothing more than that...
Because in the Valentine ep where Logan's dad comes in and kicks the fam out he didn't even mention the fact that Rory had the cojones to go back to the paper! Isn't that sad?
I wish I could write the show. The show would be so much better.
BTW, here's a link to where my stories are if you ever dare to peruse (and yes, I am a Tristan fan. I can't stand Logan).

I'm sure if they at least had fans to preview a script, then their would be no inconsistencies and they could get a take on the plots. Wouldn't it be great to have imput in some way? There would be no Dean affair or April interruptious. Gilmore life would be just peachy keen.
And donut shop, I read one...but I have to say that it was a little too much R (in rating) for me. But great otherwise. Why should you not write what you want to? I wish I could write good, but I'm a skunk when it comes to the word-putting-into-sentences. And coffee doesn't even help with that.

LOL were you reading the ones from the Buidl-A-Fic? Those are challenges. The link I sent you are the ones that are for public reading...
Sorry for the confusion.

Crap. I forgot all about that episode with Rory getting her job back. Which is probably what they were counting on.
How disappointing.

I know. Is that not what the episode was about? Rory getting back on track with her life and with Lor. So she went back to school...back on track with Lor and her life, but the job was to help her get back on track with her life, too. Man, oh, man. I just hope that they don't decided to pick it up in future episodes because it wouldn't make sense with current episodes...with everything else that's happened and going on. Maybe, though, it would be good. It would take the focus off of the buys in the Gilmores' lives, which is always a plus.

meant "boys" not buys

How stupid is that? Setting up something that would be important for Rory and the show, then dropping it like a hot potatoe. I just wish that the showrunners would get things together.

I guess at some point we just gotta let it go, after all it's just television...not our lives.
