Ganster Girls

The fun-loving Gilmore girls have reported many forms of fictitious puns, retorts, notions and quotes over their long haul. And one of the most recited or imitated movies on Gilmore Girls is The Godfather trilogy, which I'm hoping you would have guessed from the title. On many occassions, GG has delivered Godfather witticism. Remember their mock of Sophia? The Cannoli allusion? It becomes apparent then that either Dan or Amy Sherman-Palladino (or both) enjoy The Godfather. One could probably say that they salute it, but ah...that's something else altogether. What are you thoughts on the movie? Do you appreciate it's ganster/family storyline? Or do you just die when any quote or reference of the movie is pushed passed one of the leading ladies's lips? And does anyone think that it has become like Shakespear...quote overload?

Personally, I worship the movie. Have ever since childhood. It's about a time when life was different...was evolving. It's about family and it's about backdoor trades and money deals. It's covered with murder, lies and deceit, but don't all great movies have flawed stars -- Scarlett O'Hara to name one. No, she didn't hurt nobody. But she wasn't perfect, now was she? So yeah, I'm a ganster girl right along with the fictional Stars Hollow babes.

* Want to read it?

** Want to watch it?

*** And did you know that The Godfather had a game? I didn't. I feel a little shamed, too. I'm going to have to rent it to see what it's all about and to rectify my ignorance.

    I KNOW. They quote it all the time. Personally, it's not a movie for me. I know some of the quotes becuase they are used often like on GG or Smallville or all kinds of movies...and it's really a quote overload in my book.

    I've always enjoyed the second part, the part with Michael as the Godfather. I mainly liked it because of the flash backs of Don (movie one Godfather).

    Ow, I love Al Pacino and I love the second movie, too. Those have some of the best moments, especially the flashbacks. Too great!

    I've watch the movies a couple of times, but I never really gotten into them. I'm more of action and sci fi -- Matrix, etc.

    I LOVE the Matrix, too. I love just about all movies, well I watch about all movies. Some are worth watching, some are worth mocking and some are worth the torcher I put my friends through.
