Disaster People

I have to hand it to A S-P with this one, Logan Huntzberger is a character that's shabby and slick. Over season five and a good portion of this season, many fans have learned to love Logan, but I haven't for one second. Well, maybe for his first couple of season five episodes where Rory has yet to be destroyed. He was charming, irrating and completely handsome, but once again I underestimated A S-P's abilities to direct one of Rory's relationships. She created nothing but diaster. Do you hear me? Disaster, people! These days Logan makes me think of Dean's season five that I like to call "botch plot." Rory's man...I should say relationship...reads like some daytime drama with all of the ups, downs and side angles. Logan is smart, dimple-adored and a fashionable dress, but I think that Rory had it right when she called him a butt-face miscreant. He is Rory's malicious antagonist and a criminal offender who receives white-collar penalties. I'm almost glad that he got hurt in his Life and Death Brigade endeavor...almost. Now, Rory is going to run to his side for good. I can just feel it. If she can pass up Jess...hot Jess, then she is sure to side up to Logan for good now.

Okay. I know some of your opinions about Logan, Rory and their relationship, but I thought that we could hit it head on now. When did you start hating Logan? Or do you have googoo eyes for the boy? Is Logan getting what he deserves with his accident in tonight's episode called Super Cool Party People? Is Rory glued to him now and forever? Do you think that Logan has helped or destroyed her relationship?

Everyone in my group will tell you that I am not a Logan fan. Never. However, he had his moments. I liked it when he held Rory's hand when they jumped off the platform. I liked the way he defended her to his parents during Honor's engagement announcement. I liked the way he tried to get Rory out of her funk when Dean dumped her in front of the Yale men.

But those are the few and far between moments.

I've always thought of Logan as a cheap replacement of Tristin. That's why I call him Diet Tristin, or Tristin 2.0, or Tristin-Lite. Same person, different name and face.

LOL! Love what you said. I've never been fond of the poor boy either, though like you said he has his moments. And after watching last night's episode, Logan had another moment. He was actually not mean or salty, but sweet. And he looked pityful in the hospital bed.

AND OMG! Did anyone hear the word "pregnant" during the clips for next week's episode? Oh, god please don't let it be Rory.

Nope. I think that he got what was coming to him, and it's been coming for awhile now. Ever since he talk down to Marty, I've hated him. He's nothing but an over priviledge white male that needs his a** wooped up and down Yale. And who knows, it might make him a better man.

In fear of being beaten for telling you GG lover, the pregnant girl isn't Rory. That's all I'm gonna say.

I have to say I agree with my girl M, who is my partner in crime. I have hated Logan since the beginning too, and while he has his moments, and really adorable friends who I adore more than words, I hate him.

And I also agree with her saying that Logan is a cheap Tristan, which is why for the majority of season 5 I called him Imitation Tristan, or IT for short.

And I totally agree with the fact that he's not good for Rory, and that they aren't a good match at all. At all. They don't fit in each other's worlds. He'd never go to hang out in Stars Hollow. He'd never talk to Lane, or have coffee with Lorelai, or try the chicken chow mein sandwich at Al's Pancake world. And she'd never enjoy going to the endless parties and being a part of his family. She'd basically have to give up everything that she's barely been able to hold onto that makes her her as it is, but to actually be with him forever, that would be the end of Rory.

Plus, neither of them have the support of their families. His family openly hates her, and the Gilmores aren't so happy with the match either, even Emily and Richard. They haven't seemed to be too supportive since WGSMtD when Richard found out about what Micthum said to Rory.

I loved what you said about Stars Hollow and Al's. It definitely locks my long standing opinion of him down to one word disaster. He's been like a tornado since he entered her life. Yes, he tore her away from Dean and he gets kudos for that, but he has ripped her from her natural habitat. He has shattered her true self, and I only hope that there is truly an end near. And someone help me out here because I can't remember, is Logan on for next season?

Yes, he is back for season 7. What his effect is now that team Palladino is out is questionable. I still want Rory with Jess since we can't have Skank Pedophile back but hey, I don't write the show. (>:))

And echoing K's sentiments, yes, Logan has never really lived in Rory's world. He lived the Gilmore life via the elder Gilmores. Until he makes the Al invite, or the Luke third degree in the diner, I won't have Logan in any way, shape or form.

I also echo anon's feelings about people who belittle other people. Marty was a decent man and was more down to earth, if not closer in the compatible world with Rory.

I kind of want Rory to end with no one at the end of the show. I mean, if it ends next season like it probably will, she'll have just graduated from college, and ready to take the world by storm. I think that having her tied to a guy would sort of hinder that sort of, keeping her tied to a certain area, or person she needs to be, especially if it were someone like Logan.

I have to agree with anonymous too, that Logan belittling Marty was the first sign that this guy was a jackass. Marty was probably the closest thing to Rory's best match that the show has ever done. He could fit into her world really easily, he had enough quirks to make him interesting to Lorelai, he was kind and respectful of her, so Luke wouldn't put him in a headlock, he went to Yale, so Richard and Emily are guaranteed to love him, he's smart, and sweet, and funny and he's got that slight John Mayer look (before he decided to join ranks with those two creepy old guys and get all strange) and he's always there when she needs him.

    Sigh.

I think that all that was covered in an earlier post, but eh, it can never really be said more than it needs to, that Marty was awesome and that the show really missed the boat by getting rid of Wayne Wilcox.

And who knows? Maybe if they'd been smart four years ago and kept Tristan, CMM wouldn't be the creepy pedophile he is today. Perhaps he'd have stuck around with the girls and he'd have learned a thing or two about being a good guy. It could be all ASP's fault that CMM is the way he is, going into his second marriage in less than a year with a probably knocked up high schooler.

    Sigh.

Great idea for a GG ending on Rory's part. Her just graduating and be able to accomplish her overseas journalism is what she wanted since the beginning of the show and I think that Kat is right. It'd be a great way to end the show. Gives us a feeling that Rory is being who she has always wanted to be.

And for the recorded, I liked Rory in season four (before the Dean Black Bean), where it was about her life and not about some boy.

I'd rather be spoiled on this one, thanks Kathrine.
