7.9 Description

This Tuesday, November 28th, the CW will be airing 7.9 -- Knit, People, Knit! According the CW site...

When Christopher questions Lorelai about why she has avoided involving him in the daily life of Stars Hollow, she admits her concern that her old friends may not accept him. Christopher makes an effort to bond with the townspeople, and Lorelai brings him to the town knit-a-thon, where his well-intentioned gesture brings the event to an early end.

When Olivia throws a 2002-themed birthday party for Lucy, Rory gets her chance to confront Marty about his coldness toward her. Finally, Luke is touched by the birth of Liz and T.J.'s baby, and when he learns that Anna is planning to move to New Mexico with April, he demands equal rights as a parent.

Liza Weil also stars. Kenny Ortega directed the episode written by David Grae.
Hmmm...sounds interesting. I wonder what Chris does to cause some town trouble. Oh, I've got a spoiler. According to spoilerfix.com, "Liz delivers her baby in her own house."

Introducing Lorelai Planetarium

So last night. It was interesting to say the least. I enjoyed this episode without any looming homework threats and ridiculous interruptions...which fills me with candycanes. I had a cup of coffee in hand and a pad to scribble down some notes. Notes? Yeah, I know. I just didn't have the energy to worry with the VCR last night, which means I didn't record the episode. But no worries. Lucky for me, and you, I was able to jot down some points of interest.

To start off, let's rehash with a short recap of 7.8: Introducing Lorelai Planetarium. Lorelai cooked snails. Rory ignored and alienated two people close to her. And Luke sat in ER hell. Okay. That's the recap. It's short and makes no sense, but it does paint a picture. Doesn't it?

Alright. For my reflections on last night's episode, I really only have a couple of things to share. First and foremost is...

"Screw you, Logan!" Ha! I think that was the best line of the night. In just three little words, Rory finds her back bone. A great step for her character and an awesome step for the R&L relationship. Rory is now seeing how I've felt this whole time. The sad thing is that Logan was the one to dish out my barn yard song. But that's find. I can deal with it. Plus, I loved how it all came about. Rory goes to "rich" party. Rory bashes the party in her latest article. Logan takes it personally...after all, he is one of them. But...ah-ha, Rory is one of them, too. Or at least, that is Logan's opinion. And yeah, I agree. Rory has turned into one of them. She isn't the Stars Hollow girl any more. But before Rory blows the screw to Logan, he points out her rent-free living. (Wince) I don't know if I'm siding with him on that point or not. He did offer it to her (which she points out to the prancing fairies later on).

"You and your wife can go in now." Errrrrr...crash. Looks like Luke finds out from the doc about Lorelai's recent vows. Well, the doc just leads Luke to the end of the trail...the shiny band on Lorelai's finger. In that moment of seeing and processing, Luke looks both shocked, pained and broken. Makes me ache a little. But it doesn't make me change my mind. Chris and Lor forever!

"Twenty years in the making." The scene between Lorelai and Rory near the episode's end was wonderful. Lorelai's speech about her decision to impulsively marry Chris and Rory's happiness over the marriage was just what I needed. The addition of Lorelai's apology for not giving Rory a call was even more of a treat for me. I just loved the reasoning. Talking to Rory would have caused Lor to think, explain or analyze. She didn't want to talk herself out of marrying Chris. She just wanted to do it. Fine by me. I wanted her to do it as well.

To end this post, I'll leave you with a classic quote from the episode:
"Lorelai Gilmore without the Gilmore is...like...Gil-less."

Heehee. The things the writers come up with.

Wayne Wilcox Talks!

In the latest addition of articles and news over at TVGuide.com, interviewer Megan Cherkezian got Wayne Wilcox to spill some beans about his return to Gilmore Girls as the nice guy Marty. Wyane also tells us about what he's been up to.

Wayne Wilcox is living his dream: acting on stage and on camera, and for all those Gilmore Girls fans, he's as surprised as you are about his return to the popular CW series (Tuesdays at 8 pm/ET). Introduced years ago as Rory's shy Yale classmate Marty, Wilcox is back to "heat" things up and make young Ms. Gilmore think twice. TVGuide.com caught the busy actor during some downtime to talk about Marty's return and the new play that he "had to do." Plus, you won't believe how he landed on Gilmore Girls in the first place! Read on for the goods.

TVGuide.com: Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
Wayne Wilcox: Yeah, I just cleaned my stove today, actually.

TVGuide.com: Are you celebrating at your place?
Wilcox: No, but I am making the turkey and a couple pies.

TVGuide.com: Impressive!
Wilcox: I just figured you need a clean stove to do that. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: I know a lot of Gilmore fans, including myself, that have been waiting for Marty's return! Did you know you'd be back eventually, or was it a surprise to you?
Wilcox: Thank you to all of you. It was totally a surprise to me. I actually had dinner with Lauren [Graham] [Sunday] night. She was in town to the see the play [Tennessee Williams' Suddenly Last Summer] — she's a friend of Carla Gugino's — and we know each other in passing, we worked together once the first year I was on the show. So she came backstage and gave me a big, big hug, and she said, "There was one woman, a writer on the show, who's responsible for bringing you back, and she was so excited because she thought you were such a cool character."

TVGuide.com: Last week, Marty pretended he didn't even know Rory, which was so uncomfortable. Do they have a friendship or possibly something more in upcoming episodes?
Wilcox: Well, I can't say for sure — and just so you know, they run a tight ship over there, they're pretty secretive about their episodes, even with us. I can honestly say that I don't know — but what I've done so far… that awkwardness between them? It continues, it gets a little heated, which hopefully makes for good drama.

TVGuide.com: Do Rory's friends find out about her past friendship with Marty and the fact that he liked her?
Wilcox: Well, I don't know about that, but some things go down, I'll put it that way. There are a couple of heated discussions.

TVGuide.com: Does Logan come into the mix?
Wilcox: Yeah, absolutely, because he's her boyfriend.

TVGuide.com: So you can't tell me more than that, huh?
Wilcox: No, I can't! I wish I could, but they'd kill me.

TVGuide.com: Will anything surprise us about Marty's return?
Wilcox: Marty's kind of grown up. The thing I like about playing the character — especially what I've done with this season — is that he's a little cooler, a little hipper, he's got a girlfriend, he's relaxed. And he's not afraid to admit that he likes Rory, I guess.

TVGuide.com: So the feelings still linger after all these years?
Wilcox: I think so, yeah. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: Marty reminds me of Dean a little bit. He's the nice guy. And Logan, as sweet as he can be, can be disconnected at times. I think fans who liked Dean also latched onto the idea of Rory and Marty getting together one day.
Wilcox: It's interesting how I actually got the part…. I read some scenes that were Dean and Rory scenes. I was waiting tables at the Mercer Kitchen in Soho and [then Gilmore Girls producers/writers] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] and Dan [Palladino] were staying at the Mercer Hotel. I served them breakfast, and they asked me if I was an actor. I gave them my agent's information and they ended up calling and put me on tape just to see what I could do, and they said, "We're writing this part for you, Marty." And I was like, "Wow, that's weird and great and fast and something completely unexpected." But the scenes that I read were Dean scenes, so they were thinking along that vein as well.

TVGuide.com: That's a great story!
Wilcox: I know, right? I'm so lucky!

TVGuide.com: Do you know for how long you're going to be back on the show?
Wilcox: No idea. I like it like that, to be honest, because it's surprising and it's more of a challenge.

TVGuide.com: And how is it balancing Suddenly Last Summer and getting called in for Gilmore Girls?
Wilcox: They'll give me a week's notice. But everybody's been super-supportive of me doing both. When I found out I got cast in a play, I knew right away that I had to do it, because it's Tennessee Williams and because there are incredible people working together — incredible cast [Becky Ann Baker, Blythe Danner], the director [Mark Brokaw]. And then Gilmore Girls called and said, "We want you to come back," and between my agents and both the Roundabout [Theatre] and the CW, everybody was super-supportive, totally wanted to work around schedules, so I go on my day off.

TVGuide.com: So the play is going well. Do you prefer the stage over TV, or do you like the combination of both?
Wilcox: I love the combination of both. Besides making me feel like a rock star, it makes me feel like a good actor. They're completely different mediums, they call for different skills.

TVGuide.com: You're live one minute and doing retakes the next.
Wilcox: Exactly. The shots — especially the way they shoot a television show like Gilmore Girls — they go so fast and each different shot requires a different level of energy. When they're doing your close-up, you have to be really, really small, but then when they're doing a master shot, which is really wide and the camera's far away, it's almost like you're on stage anyway. But then to go back to New York and do it on an intimate stage, I get really aware of how different being on camera is.

TVGuide.com: So you have a movie coming out next year?
Wilcox: Oh, Interivew, yeah. Steve Buscemi directed that, it was nice, I felt lucky to meet him.

TVGuide.com: What's the basis of the movie and your character?
Wilcox: Steve plays a journalist for a newspaper and they send him on what he considers to be a bogus interview. Sienna Miller plays the soap-opera star that he gets sent to interview — he sees it as a little bit beneath him — so he goes and, to coin a phrase from The Real World, "It's what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real." [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: So he sees a different side than he expected.
Wilcox: Exactly. I play an actor in one of the soaps, in a couple of her scenes.

TVGuide.com: Are you a Real World fan?
Wilcox: No. I mean, I was a big fan of the original Real World, it was 1995 I think. I was in Tennessee, watching it late at night, because my parents thought that MTV was going to rot my brain. I think I was 15.

TVGuide.com: Do you have anything else coming up?
Wilcox: Right now, the play is the most important thing, and Gilmore Girls, when that comes along, takes a lot of concentration. Pilot season is starting, it's really early this year, too. I just did an audition today and I have another one later in the afternoon.

TVGuide.com: So you're auditioning for a couple of sitcoms?
Wilcox: Oh, it's everything. So far there are a lot of cop dramas trying to be made, and a lot of young lawyers.

TVGuide.com: Well, hopefully something new and refreshing will come out of it.
Wilcox: Yeah, I hope so. I try to contribute what I can to the whole new-and-refreshing thing.

It's alot, huh? Well, enjoy!

Do I know you?

Marty doesn't know Rory. Rory thinks she knows Marty. I thought I knew Marty. But now I'm beginning to reconsider this thought. Not only does Marty show back up as Lucy's boyfriend...but he pretends not to know Rory (a rock in the road for Rory and her new friends, I'm sure). She goes along with the plan, but when she gets him alone you know she is totally freaked by the experience. She wants to know why. Heck. I want to know why. But before we can get a nod, a whisper or a hint, the prancing fairies return. A time in which Marty proceeds to ignore Rory.

Why? Oh, why does Marty pretend to not to know Rory? I'll give you a clue. He's still torn over our Tori. Oops. Sorry. I'm a little blue. I mean our Rory. It's that the reason, though. Is Marty still heart-strapped for the bookworm? Or do you have a better reason. Let's discuss. I know I haven't been posting. And I'm sorry for that. I promise I'll try harder. So let's discuss. Don't forget to talk about what Marty's re-appearance will mean for Rory and her life for Logan. I bet thinks will definitely get spicy...or at least choppy.

7.8 Description

According to The CW, in Introducing Lorelai Planetarium, which airs on November 21st,...

"Lorelai invites Rory over to dinner to tell her that she and Christopher got married in Paris. Rory pretends to be thrilled while Christopher is in the room, but later tells Lorelai how hurt and angry she really is.

Back in town for the start-up of his new internet company, Logan invites Rory to the launch party, where she meets a magazine editor who suggests she write an article on the event. Rory writes a judgmental article, describing the guests as spoiled elitists. Logan is hurt and angry, accusing Rory of hypocrisy since she is living rent-free in his apartment. Defensive at first, Rory realizes she is living a double standard and decides to find her own apartment.

Meanwhile, when April faces a medical emergency, a frantic Luke turns to Lorelai for help.

Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode written by Jennie Snyder."

* Looks like some Lorelai on Luke action in this episode...and I'm talking about the part they left out in the description. It appears from spoilers that Luke will freak out when discovering Lorelai's marriage. More so than Rory. Yikes!

Wow.

It's been a heck of a two weeks, and I'm not just talking about me. Somethings on Gilmore Girls have been heating up. Lorelai got married. MARRIED! It's great. It's fantastic. It's what I've been waiting for. The only problem is that they are making Lorelai seem unsure. Hopefully, though, she's unsure about telling Rory. Please, don't let it be about her marrying Chris because having what I want stripped away might just kill me. Kidding. It'll just destroy part of my love for the show. Anyway, my two-week heck isn't over yet. So I better bounce. Haha.

C-ya.

P.S. Didn't Marty's short do look hot? I think it did! Oh, and by the way, the CW has posted a director's cut of the new GG episode Introducing Lorelai Planetarium. Click here to jump on over.

New Tuesday

After the empty GG Tuesday this past week, I'm thrilled to be heading into the new week with the promise of a new Gilmore Girls episode. According to the CW, Go Bulldogs! features...

"Christopher talk[ing] Lorelai into visiting Rory at Yale during Parents' Weekend, and Lorelai is surprised to find that Richard and Emily are also there. Trying to prove how cool he is, Christopher invites all of Rory's co-workers on the Yale Daily News to an expensive lunch where they all drink too much, and the meal ends abruptly when Rory insists they leave to cover a breaking story.

Meanwhile, Luke meets April's swimming coach, who convinces him to take her adult swimming class. When the coach flirts with him, Luke asks her out on a date.

Melissa McCarthy, Yanic Truesdale, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star. Wil Shriner directed the episode written by David S. Rosenthal & Rebecca Rand Kirshner."

Sounds great to me!

P.P.S. Chris and Lorelai look hot in the new photo. Don't you think so?
