RoLo Rocketship

My review, if you read it, was a little sorted and incoherent concerning last night's Gilmore Girls episode. But don't worry, there are some issues and scenes that I'd like to touch base on. For instance, I'd like to lay out my thoughts on the "rocketship" concerning RoLo (Rory and Logan). According to Rory, the rocketship is a personification of what our rich dude thinks true love is all about. More precisely, this representation of love comes from an episode from the television series Twilight Zone. An episode which is consequently the same name of GG's premiere episode...The Long Morrow. In the sci-fi episode, the astronaut fell in love with someone before he was to go away for 40 years, but he would be in stasis for those 40 years. So, when he came back they would be different ages, and she would be old while he young still. But he goes. And when he comes back, there she is. She had put herself in stasis for 40 years so she would be young for him. But he had stayed out of stasis for 40 years, alone in space, so he would be old for her. Sounds sweet and romantic...kind of like love, too. But is it true love? What happened to those lovers? Did they stay together with him being old and wringly? I don't watch too many sci-fi stuff, so who knows.

The real question is -- is it true love for RoLo? Personally, I don't think they have it. What they do have is an adult relationship...which is now stretched out because of the long distance. If it's true love, can it last in limbo? People grow up and away from each other when they are in the same city, on the same street or even in the same house. Can RoLo really make things work? I hope not. Rory deserves someone better. Someone who will return her love and know her. Unlike Logan, who gave her a sweet gesture, but spurned any reaction or any feedback in person with the Christmas ticket. Marty, Jess or Dean would never leave their girls high and dry across a body of water after declaring true love. Ah, I feel like I'm going in circles with this. What do you think? Does the rocketship stand for true love? Does RoLo have that kind of love? And if so, what are your reactions? Plus, let me have it -- do you like the abbr. for Rory and Logan? Is RoLo an appropriate name?

THE RETURN

This article is written in real time. That means that I typed as I watched. So forgive me for any mistakes.

Here it is! Here it is! I'm actually watching "Previously on Gilmore Girls..."

We left Lorelai naked in Christopher's bed, but that's not were start off. Rory wakes to a disaster and opens a box of...wait...it's not rose. It's a rocketship. And then were are off to the moment I've been waiting for -- Lorelai and Chris. Chris has his arm over the sweet girl, but she brushes it off and heads like a mad woman for the door. Um, hello Lor. Is this your coyote ugly? I think not. OMG! What you are doing to me? Why does Lor have to look so disgusted? Well, disgusted isn't the right word I'd use. After all, I still have hope. So I'll say shock.

Yeah! Babette. She's on Lor's couch when Lor does the shame walk in to her own house. Don't worry though. Babette didn't sleep walk. It was the dog. But that's not the thing. Babette knows...which means that everyone knows. Ha! What a shock! Oh, that's from Babette's under garments. Her panties are in the drier. Crazy, crazy let me tell ya.

Paris Geller - Harsh has ever. And hey, looks like she lost some wait. Did anyone else catch this? Doesn't matter. What matters is that Paris hits the nail with Logan being gone and the whole long distance relationship. Well, the limbo if you ask Paris.

Oh, after the SAT thing it runs to Lor and Luke. Yep! The caffine and genetics clip rolls in this. As well as the "there's you...there's me...there's no us." Man, got to say that I love that. But my mind is now flipped. It's funny time. Sookie and Michelle are the two who are arm wrestling. And our sunshine girl won...and she goes on and on about it. She has superpower, super bionetic wrists. Then wham! The supportive friends talk. Well, Sookie is on the Luke lily pad, but I'm glad that Lorelai is saying no. Then Lor drops the Chris shoe. And there she goes again. Sookie on the Luke lily pad, which opens the door for Lor's breakdown rant. I mean after all, who doesn't want to be in the passenger seat? And I'm glad that she realizes that Luke has separated "them."

Pudding break.

Okay. I'm back.

From the break, we open up to Luke's Diner. And oh, boy he is a bad mood. More of a bad mood than last...two years ago. Yes, more mean to Ceasar and crazy. Hescrambles a customer's eggs on the customer's own plate. But there is the same Taylor/Luke banter that we all know and love.

Lorelai and Rory are now talking in the Dragon Fly Inn. Rory tells of the bad bye, the bad, bad bye and Lor tells of the breakup. So they decided not to talk, where the "talk about how to not talk" clip flys in. And there is the sports talking. But you are never going to guess who they ask about sports? Yep, it's Michelle. He is the one who...whoa...he has a cast on...why? It's not talked about. You know who's talking, though. Rory and Logan. And there is no great communication because Rory doesn't know what the rocketship is for, and Logan doesn't give any hints, so we are in the dark some more. I like the dark. It's quite...I hate commercials!

Raquectball - Well, there is no playing. There's talking...about the rocketship and what it means, even the stupid parts about rocket gum. Then the Luke subjects comes up and one try at the game gives Lor a black eye...and that's over, which is good. The whole echo from the ball was driving me crazy.

Man, this episode is moving so fast. Lorelai empty her bathroom of Luke's junk (yeah...sorry) as Rory finds that there is no ice in the Gilmore house. So naturally, she goes to Doose. While there, she gets to witness the big crash to the diner. It was Kirk. He was doing the test run for the new traffic camera, but the flash was major. It was apocalyptic. At least, the crash wasn't Kirk's fought. He gets picked on enough.

Alright, we are back from another commercial and I must say that this episode is pretty funny. It's also drama crazy, which is great. But then Rory's talk of Fast and the Furious and the crash at warp speed is amazing. Plus, there is the cultter of our lives...which brings the vicious breakup talk back into our lives with piles. And Rory does what she does best...unlike Sookie. Rory lets it go. And so does all of the stuff in the house. Except the rocketship. Yes, the rocketship. We are back at it and so are the girls. There is still no meaning. Do you guys know what it is yet?

Chris - So hot! Why does she not want to be with Chris? I'd let him cook me dinner. Ah, this is so heartbreaking. She went to Chris for a reason, so why can't she remember that. I get it. She has been with Luke since last year and that's a lot of time to be with someone.

Rocketship -- Twilight Zone. The Long Morrow. Astronant. Suspended animation. True love. The rocketship means true love. Who knew?

Christmas - Way to bust that bubble Logan!

Luke/Lor end of episode talk - Oh, it starts off so cute. Luke is so cute. He packed the truck for the trip for them to elope. There is definitely some sweet sadness, since we know. But man, he's got me. He's got the best lines of the episode. A little too late, which Lorelai let's him know, which gives us the ending. Door slamming and taillights.

All right all. I have to sit and simmer. UM, wait. Next week looks AWESOME! Verbal battle in the streets. Hostile words between scorned lovers. Scenes for the next looks like a winner.

THE DAY

Today is the day. We have finally reached the season seven premiere date. That's right September 26th, the long awaited day, is here. And tonight, in the glow of our television screens, all Gilmore fans will follow Rory in her last year at Yale and Lorelai as she let's life take her on a journey from Luke. Expect massive amounts of wit, fast pace Gilmore ramble, overwhelming character changes and most of all - racketball, rocketships and tension out the wazoo!

Airing tonight is episode 7.01: The Long Morrow. Below are few refresher tips to ease you back into the lovely and crazy Gilmore world...

1. The Rule of Pudding: Fans know that it ain't Gilmore Girls without a little pudding. After all, Lorelai worships it. She has a bowl up on the mantel at home with the Virgin Mary, a glass of wine and a dollar bill next to it. So you bet that I'll be munching down on some pudding. Chocolate pudding to be exact, and it's homemade. Yep, homemade pudding from my mother's kitchen. Mmmmm...can't wait!

2. A Box of Kleenex: This rule is mainly for those L/L fans. I hear that Luke might have this group crying...apparently his scene with Lorelai toward the end of the episode is the best that he's ever had. But don't rejoice too much L/C fans. It appears that you may need a box of tissues at the beginning of the episode. If you'd like to know why L/C fans might need a box, check out the Director'c Cut of the spoiler video. It's got juice. Trust me.

3. VCR: It's the only way to fly back. Remember, writers, especially the GG people, throw tons of cultural references from movies to books to music to whatever. Plus, it allows you to rewatch and rehash those die-hard moments over and over again.

4. Ejoy!

Note that these tips go along with who I am, so you might have to make adjustments or disreguard them altogether. Either way, I just want you to be all set for the night. I know I will!

Now, let's talk recap. I plan on eating my pudding, typing my thoughts and watching the episode at the same time. It's natural that I'm a multi-tasker, so hopefully I'll get something post by tonight. If not, you can expect something up bright and early tomorrow morning.

Short Post

Hey guys!

As you have read by the title, this post is a short one. I'm busy at the moment making some Smallville banners and such. It's an obsession, so sew me! Anyway, I just wanted to type to let you all know that The Complete Sixth Season of Gilmore Girls hit store shelves today. That means that you should head out right now...now...to by it. It's about the split, the rift if you will, between our favorite mother and daughter, who look quite glowing in the DVD picture to the left. It'll cover their fallout from the premiere episode New and Improved Lorelai and go all the way to the Luke and Lorelai fallout in the season finale episode Partings. Getting the boxset now will give you time over the weekend to rewatch the season before season seven hits tv airwaves.

* SEVEN DAYS until the s7 premiere!

CW's 7.01 Description

According to The CW...

"Picking up on the day after last season's finale, Lorelai wakes up in bed with Christopher. Confused and mortified, she makes a hasty exit, ignoring Christopher's pleas that she stay. Once at home, Lorelai tries to get rid of everything that reminds her of Luke and ends up practically emptying her house. Rory receives a toy rocket ship as a parting gift from Logan and is baffled as to its meaning. She decides she should join him in London for the summer, only to learn he has bought her a ticket for a visit at Christmas. Kirk and Taylor cause a bizarre accident that damages Luke's diner. Finally, Luke shows up at Lorelai's door and asks her to elope. Melissa McCarthy, Yanic Truesdale and Liza Weil also star."

Ejoy The Long Morrow description! It was a little heartbreaking to hear Lor running out on Chris, but knowing that Luke asks to elope and Lor tells (I'm guessing from the clips) him that she slept with Chris makes it worth the pain.

* Oh, yeah. 15 DAYS!!!!

7.01 Spoiler Recap

The spoiler world has been popping and swirling with great tid-bits about the dozens of shows out in TV land, so naturally I thought I'd do a recap of what's hot for the first episode of GG's seventh year.

+ Babette has a funny scene regarding drying her "intimates"
+ There's a two-foot tall rocket ship
+ There is raquetball (which was seen in the promo clips)
+ Paris kick starts her SAT tutoring business, which is suppose to be hilarious. Attention to these scenes are vital, for there is something of importance in her scenes.
+ Kirk is in the premiere
+ Taylor installs a red-light camera to catch crime
+ Rory and Logan grow closer than ever before
+ Customers call Luke's Diner depressing
+ Taylor's car crashes into Luke's Diner (that's the shocking face Rory makes in the promotional clips)
+ Luke is faced with an easy decision (to tow or not to tow the car)
+ Luke explodes

Wow. That's a bunch. If you have gotten any more, post them in the comments.

Here's a spoiler description of the episode: "Luke and Lorelai will have a confrontation over Lorelai sleeping with Christopher, and Luke struggles with depression. Luke and Christopher fight. Rory struggles with her separation from Logan and their long-distance relationship, as well as having to make new friends at Yale."

Because both of them encounter a Parisian truck driver who makes fun of them trying to speak French. [They also encounter a] French woman who chats while hanging their laundry."

Oh, my goodness!

Enjoy the spoiler everyone! But before I type out, I'd like to give a running count of the season seven episode titles that are known so far.

Graham to work with Perry

According to TV Guide, our Gilmore Girls co-star Lauren Graham is to appear with Matthew Perry on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, a NBC show hitting the air this fall. To describe the show in more detail, it's a fictional late-night sketch comedy series. And GG's witty mom will appear for a couple of episodes...two to be exact. Lauren will take a role as a guest host of Studio 60's SNL-type show plot. Sounds great to me. I can't picture a better person to dish out the comedy.

Release Dates

From a post on my Random Chatter blog, someone asked me to compile a list of DVD releases. Considering that I need to know the information as well, I decided to take up the request. For connivance, I’ll list the shows in alphabetical order.

Alias S5 -- November 21
Charmed S6 -- October 17
Gilmore Girls -- September 19
Grey’s Anatomy -- September 12
Lost -- September 5
The O.C. -- October 24
Smallville -- September 12
Veronica Mars -- Released on August 22

If you can think of any other shows, just post me a comment. I’ll find it’s release date and post it as soon as I can.

P.S. I created two Veronica Mars banners if anyone is interested. To see them, click here. It's a link over to my Random Chatter blog, which is where I posted them since this is a GG blog.

For now…peace out!
