Patty-Tale

Miss. Patty has been in the biz we like to call show for forty years. She's a hip gal, snazay dresser and all time Stars Hollow gossip townie. Any news, information or intel that passes by her ears is spread so quickly that you might think of her as a gossip plague. No one is immune. No one is safe. Normally, that is the case. But in the last installment episode called Super Cool Party People, Miss Patty dropped her long time habit. Instead of dealing out the "big bad" secrets, she covered for our Gilmore girl Lorelai about her drunken, center stage outburst. Well, she didn't omitt very much, just Lorelai's frontal slurr of "not happening marriage" talk. How sweet, huh? Well, at first it felt a little weird, but then I got to thinking. Miss Patty is a stand up lady. She's never in her whole life, or what we know of it, done anything to hurt anyone, especially Lorelai. Miss Patty has taken to herself to look out for Lor. Remember her attempt to set Lor up on a date at the basket buying in season two? She was trying to help give Lorelai what the poor girl needs, so it's clear to see that this act of lying was something well in Miss Patty's character.

But was Miss Patty's tale the right thing to do? Do you think that Lorelai hoped that her little outburst would reach Luke's ears? Or do you think that she was grateful for Miss Patty's act of kindness? What do you think of the Patty-tale?

Copy Cat

Remember when Lorelai kissed Max in Rory's school in season 1? Remember that she scolded herself for breaking her Gilmore rules? Well, it appears now that ASP is copying the cat. In this past Tuesday's installment, Lorelai and Anna finally meet. You see Lor went to talk to Anna, I guess in hopes of starting some relationship, but things were nailed to the floor when Anna spoke of Lor's old mom-n-daughter rules. And what can one do when that one had those rules once her self?

* How do you think things will progress between Anna and Lor? Between Lor and April? Lor and Luke? What's your take on the copy cat? Is Anna just another copy of Lorelai or what?

Disaster People

I have to hand it to A S-P with this one, Logan Huntzberger is a character that's shabby and slick. Over season five and a good portion of this season, many fans have learned to love Logan, but I haven't for one second. Well, maybe for his first couple of season five episodes where Rory has yet to be destroyed. He was charming, irrating and completely handsome, but once again I underestimated A S-P's abilities to direct one of Rory's relationships. She created nothing but diaster. Do you hear me? Disaster, people! These days Logan makes me think of Dean's season five that I like to call "botch plot." Rory's man...I should say relationship...reads like some daytime drama with all of the ups, downs and side angles. Logan is smart, dimple-adored and a fashionable dress, but I think that Rory had it right when she called him a butt-face miscreant. He is Rory's malicious antagonist and a criminal offender who receives white-collar penalties. I'm almost glad that he got hurt in his Life and Death Brigade endeavor...almost. Now, Rory is going to run to his side for good. I can just feel it. If she can pass up Jess...hot Jess, then she is sure to side up to Logan for good now.

Okay. I know some of your opinions about Logan, Rory and their relationship, but I thought that we could hit it head on now. When did you start hating Logan? Or do you have googoo eyes for the boy? Is Logan getting what he deserves with his accident in tonight's episode called Super Cool Party People? Is Rory glued to him now and forever? Do you think that Logan has helped or destroyed her relationship?

A Wish Or An Error

According to Ausiello over at TV Guide Online, GG's creater Amy Sherman-Palladino is out. She has opted not to renew her contract and will be leaving Gilmore Girls at the end of this season. And oh, yes. She is taking her husband, Dan, with her. And in Ausiello's words, "AS-P wanted a two-year pickup, a demand that Warner Bros. refused to meet since Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are only on board for one more year. Instead, the studio was ready to pay them just shy of $5 million for a one-year deal, an offer that was apparently good enough to refuse."

So there you have it. Amy splits on account of a contract. But don't worry, though, the WB is still singing Amy's praises: "While we are disappointed that Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino have decided not to stay with the show next season, we are very confident that Dave Rosenthal, an experienced writer/producer with the show, will make the transition seamless moving into the seventh year of Gilmore Girls. We want to thank Amy for creating and nurturing this wonderful series for the past six years and giving us one of the most memorable mother/daughter relationships in television history."

The only question left is: Is this a wish or an error? I'm leaning toward a wish, but then again Amy was the creater, the one who had the GG vision. So I just don't know. How about you guys and gals? What are your thoughts?

Okay, I'm A LIAR (S6Ep19)

It's about twenty minutes after eight am, and I'm stuck in my stat lab with nothing but boredom hitting me over the head. So I decided to use the computer in from of me to type out my thoughts on Tuesday's episode. Okay, then. Let's dig in.

Lane is getting married and Lorelai is not. I knew it was coming but I didn't think it would hit this hard. A twenty year old out does a thirty year old in hitching a man, just seems wrong to me. But let's jump into the middle of the wedding stuff. Lane gets to have her desired reception with her band playing at the event. It's grand and fab...definitely a GG wedding reception. It almost reminds me of Lor's engagement party to Max. Oh, I miss Max, though I miss him more from The Tenth Kingdom movie. It's a great Hallmark movie, and I highly suggest it to all. But anywho...Luke's still out with his daughter (yep...it's still weird), which leaves Lorelai going stag to the Lane/Zach wedding. Well, almost. Mrs. Kim doesn't freak about the dress that Loreali trimmed and himmed, but she does go crazy when she learns that Luke's out of town. Lorelai without a man and with the clothes she chooses to wear equals whore in her book, so Lor is pushed between finding a date or not coming to the wedding. So by the whole weird text messaging between Rory and her dad, Christopher becomes Lor's date. And oh, boy does he have his work cut out. From attending the Buddhist wedding at the Kims to running to the church to have Mrs. Kim's wedding, Chris gets ran jagged. But his more memorable portion was his Lorelai-sitting.

Yep. It's finally here. Lorelai, though still holding back her true feelings about Luke's April decision, has let loose. Her true feelings have reared their ugly heads, and oh, it's not pretty. Well, it's not pretty to see. Lor drunk was so...ahhhh. I have to admit, though, that her approach was a Lor thing to do. Grab a tray of twenty shots. Give two or three to your not-fiance date and go to town on the other seventeen. Add salt, and you've got a pretty good game to get drunk. But with this all said and done, I'm so tired of Lor holding back and hiding her feelings. It's not very real. No one, especially not me, would let someone who is to be with them throughout the rest of his/her life seperate their lives when they are on the road to meshing them forever. Please, just let them yell. I'll feel much better. This waiting game is agonizing.

I'm running out of time, so I'll just post the other bits:
* Yeah, Kyong is back in the GG world and she and Brian seem to be heading toward something. Smooch...smooch.
* Rory's maid of honor speech was just sweet. It's always good to hear about past things.
* Christopher staying with Lor for the whole night. Ah, he's still in love with her, or so it seems. And I'm now wanting him and her to hook up. Screw Luke...at least for now. He's got his kid. (Maybe Lor should throw that up in his face).
* When did Rory take a picture with April? Luke didn't seem to give them much time. Hmm...weird.
* Lorelia was gorgeous in the dress.

Okay. What did you think of the episode? Was it a better up-grade from last week? Come on. Let's have the nitty-gritty!

It'll Take Time

Here it is 20 minutes until Alias broadcasts across my television screen. You are probably thinking that this is a GG blog, and you are right, but this is Alias and it's one of the other highly favored shows of mine. So please bare with me.

I have comments on Tuesday's episode, like Lane's two weddings and Lorelai's twenty shots, but times are hard and busy this week and I might not be able to post anything. With that said, if anyone...I mean anyone...wants to write something up on the episode (it could just be a section of the episode or whatever), then type it up and email it to me at Rudy8850@yahoo.com. I'll post it for others (and hopefully me) to type about. Or you all can just type things out on this comment section if you like. And just know that it'll take time for my return.

Okay...it's 14 minutes! I've got a problem I know, but I haven't seen a new eppie of Alias since December. AHHHHHHHHHH! So as you can tell, I'm excited that it's here and fustrated that it's taken that long.

** And next week's episode has Finn in it. Doesn't it just make you want it to hurry up and come Donut Shoppe? Lord, it's now 10 minutes. I've got to go and set up my tape player so that I can record the two new eppies.

Jackson Who ??

There's been some questioning going around about Jackson's last name. Is it Belleville or Melville? I thought that I should let you guys know that the first time we hear a last name for Jackson is in season one's Christopher Returns episode. In the episode, Jackson introduces himself in the bookstore as Jackson Melville. However, many websites host the name Belleville, like imdb.com. But don't fear, for I have substantial evidence so that Jackson and fans can finally have an answer. Do you guys remember the episode in season five where Sookie goes into labor with Martha? Of course, you do. It's the episode that Lorelai thinks that she might be pregnant again. Well, the name of the episode is called Blame Booze And Melville. So I guess you have an answer. It's Jackson Melville, and I'd take that as an official confirmation.

The Real Paul Anka

For the start of the episode and the episode's name sake, we have the "real and doggie Paul Anka" dream sequence of Lorelai's. This dream was strange, out-of-the-blue and too much like Kirk's home-made video from season two. Now, if it was Kirk's dream, then it would have fitted into the show a little better. However, with that said, the dream sequence had a sighing-laugh moment to it that was great to have after last week's filler episode, but don't get me started on that episode.

Now, I'd like to dive right in on the Rory part, but let's leave that til the last. I'll need to leave my brain free for that. So the episode overall had a great punch to it, especially the Lorelai/Luke goodbye after the opening credits. Luke was so unaware and oblivious to Lorelai's outburst. I have to say that the bag beating was great and so...I mean so...deserved. 'Bout time Lor! Because I've been going crazy with the "I'm trying to be supportive" kick. Your a woman and a fiance. Hello! That equals some defensive behavior with a dose of obsession added in. But what irked me even more was that Luke still didn't get the hint after she force feed the truck Luke's suitcase. I'm completely frustrated with him right now...well, actually I have been for awhile...and I think that hate is starting to boarder the edge of my Luke parade. But the scene with Ceasar and Kirk at the dinner helped thwart it for awhile. Having Kirk in an apron reminded me of his spontaneous job at the Dragon Fly, which was a great GG recollection.

I'll skip over the field trip portion of the episode and jump to the Luke and Jess reunion. It felt very much like the last episode Luke and Jess had together...it was comfortable and cute. I'm glad that Jess has been grateful for Luke's attempted help, and the check was a great step to show for that, though I felt uneasy with Luke taking it. I mean my parents raised me, and I hope that they don't want any refunds because they'd break me. But it was a great exchange. Jess needed to do it and I'm glad that A S-P has decided to up-grade his character because he deserves it.

Okay. It's time for the Rory bashing. I know, I know. Rory's a good little girl. Yeah, right. Lately she's taken a trip to bizarre world with a one way ticket. But with that said, I loved...LOVED...the fact that Rory was so...how should I say this...hmmm...evil. Well, I guess mean and unpleasant would do, but oh, well. She has been giving Logan the cold shoulder since the end of the last episode, but she hasn't left bizarre world which is evident when she stood up for him after kissing Jess. The kiss was so great and the moments before it were so S2: Rory and Jess. They both seemed cozy...happy. And it was great when Jess asked if Rory had everything fixed. I was screaming "LIAR," when she said yes. Does she think being with Logan is right? Guess so because she pulled back and said that she loved Logan which I have to say had me wanting to gag. How could she lead Jess on and kiss him, then jerk back. Man, am I so mad. Yes, Logan needs to be treated with the same consideration that he bestowed on Rory, but Jess didn't deserve to be the one she'd picked if she had the guts to pull it off. I'd rather her sleep with Finn...it's the exotic thing. LOL!

I don't even know what else to say right now, other than this episode was a step up from the last eppie. What did you think? Let's get down to the love/hate emotions. What conclusions did you come to on Rory's end? Is Lorelai stepping up to her old self? Is Luke still nose-diving? What ideas do you have about Lane's dress? Come on don't be shy.

I've Been Stumped

I'll be the first to admit that Gilmore Girls has stumped me on more than one occassion. And the You've Been Gilmored episode awhile back had a very interesting stump for me. At first, I tried to ignore it, but as I rewatched the episode again from my recorded tape, I couldn't resist to expand my knowledge after I used the reference and was...let's say laughed at. Do you remember the moment at Paris's dingy apartment when she has dumped all of Rory's things out in the hall for betraying her at the paper? Paris says, "This chain is here for your protection! Krav Maga, baby. When my enemies approach I'm trained to pounce! Reflex." What bothered me (and still does) was the Krav Maga reference. I had no idea who it was. Yep, I thought it was a who. And oh, boy. I was so wrong, which is why I'm glad that I looked it up when I did because it was embarassing the first time around. Krav Maga is the highly effective, battle tested Israeli system of defensive tactics, fighting skills and self-defence. Not as interesting as I had imagined. I was thinking more of a Mr. Miyagi, guess it was a good thing that I looked it up then, huh? So now that you know one of my GG stumps, are or were there any references that had you stumped?

Milo Tomorrow

The hearty-one-liner bad boy will return tomorrow on April 11th, 2006. And he's swinging into Gilmore Girls with an eye on Rory, and she's not shying away either. This is so great! Jess and Rory together again. Yes, I know that it's only for this one season six episode called The Real Paul Anka, but it's a dream come true. I'll even go out and say that it's the best move that team Palladino have made all season.

But let's recap Milo's Jess time on Gilmore Girls: He stepped into Stars Hollow fresh off the bus, with eyes on the innocent Rory as soon as his radar picked up her presence. He proceeded to worm his way into her heart, while wedging a gap between Rory and Dean and between Rory and Lorelai as well. His bad boy exterior doesn't hold for much because he's a softy that's got Rory eating out of his hands just as we too are nose deep in his kibble. But as soon as he captivates Rory and her world, he loses himself and goes off to find himself. He's popped up a couple of times since his run in season three's end, and now he's back.

What are you hoping his arrival will do in this episode? Do you think it will be the wrench that will end Logan and Rory's relationship? Or are you just glad that you are getting some Milo/Jess face time?

The Other Shoe

This isn't Veronica Mars and we don't need a clue to tell us about the other shoe. April Nardini is Luke's daughter. When this bomb-shell hit the airwaves, I thought this is it. This is the end of Lorelai and Luke. But I was wrong. Amy Sherman-Palladino has decided to enrage us with the other shoe...the protracted wait. This past Tuesday's episode was a filler (one of too many for me). It picked up right where it left off, and it picked up in the trash. At first I was glad to see Rory and Paris hanging on the couch, but wham! Logan shows up and Rory jumps to his commands. What a loser! They have completely destroyed her character. Sorry; that's not the point of this typing session. Okay, where was I? Oh, yeah. It's about Lorelai and Luke. And of course, April, though she doesn't appear. You see, the whole episode is about furthering Lorelai and Luke's relationship to despair by Lorelai losing her annoyance and frontal assault and Luke being really stupid. I mean any guy would know that things are not okay. Wake up and smell your coffee pot, Luke! You are losing Lorelai, and I bet that she'll be running more and more toward Chris as the season comes to an end.

But anyhoo. The other shoe is coming. I feel it and it's the smell of a burnt relationship. From what the spoilers have been showing on tv and from what I have read on the web, it appears to becoming at this season's finale. And I just bet you that it will leave Lorelai destroyed, while leaving Christopher as her white and shine-filled knight. What are your thoughts? Do you hate Luke? What about April? Has Lorelai's person changed? If so, how? And have you felt the foreshadowing of what's to come? Do you think that the other shoe is the ending of Lorelai and Luke's relationship?
